| | Cyprio UVC 3000 Water Clarifier
.
.
How does it work?
The ultra violet clarifier (UVC) is just one part of a Clearwater system.
It should be used with a good filtration unit
The algae, which is causing green water, are made to clump together (flocculate) by the UV light so that they can be sieved out of the water by the filter. I recommend placing the UV unit BEFORE the water goes to your filtration system A secondary feature (with regularly replaced bulbs) is the killing of water borne parasites to maintain your fish at peak health.
Features
This high quality unit incorporates a silica quartz shroud tube so that the maximum amount of UV light is transmitted to the water passing through the unit.
The unit is made of special UV resistant black plastic which will not degrade (unlike many of the cheap units on sale today.
The UV lamp is housed inside a 2½” square contact chamber which increases the turbulence of the water passing through (more than double the efficiency of a standard 2” unit.) This ensures maximum effectiveness of the UV light
The silica tube (which houses the bulb) is the full length of the bulb maximising light contact within the chamber.
Specification
It takes 15watt or 18watt UV lamps
Inlet and outlet have tapered hosetails which will take 3/”, 1” or 1¼” hose
Maximum pressure rating is 8 p.s.i.
It is designed to have water pumped through it. (it will not operate gravity fed)
Included:
It comes with two bulbs included.
These are recommended to be changed each season and are most effective for six months after which time you are recommended to replace them. They still work but the UV light emitted reduces over time.
Wiring
No wiring is included. The unit comes with a shroud to protect the unit inside from rain etc and the electrical feed for the unit is to be connected to the terminal under this shroud.
If you are not conversant with electrical works then ask a competent person to connect this for you.
Always connect any outside electrical item into a Earth leakage trip socket. |
